Amine Nasseur reading a script in a rehearsal space

Director, actor, and trainer, Amine Nasseur has established himself for over two decades as one of the singular voices of contemporary Moroccan theater.

I Training

A 2007 graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and Cultural Animation (ISADAC) in Rabat, Nasseur extended his training with international figures: actors of Peter Brook, Mark Brolokx, Jésus Cratio, the Martos Company of Barcelona in contemporary dance, Roberto Sedra in expression and emotions, Gemme Lozane in mime and pantomime.

II Lineage

An heir to the school of Tayeb Saddiki, he collaborated early on with the troupe Masrah Ennas, notably on the second version of El Harraz. From this lineage he inherited a taste for a theater both popular and erudite — a theater of weaving, where the idea of the text meets musical dramaturgy, where the halqa crosses paths with the music hall, where Brecht dialogues with the frija du bassat.

III Method

His approach, which he calls a "free performance", departs from the conventions of dramatic theater to make the stage a space of co-writing between actor, scenographer, musician, and director. Live music, rhythm, and the body are its foundational structures — not accompaniment, but the beating heart of performance.

IV Today

Internationally certified trainer by the Arab Theater Authority, he has signed more than twenty productions to date, played in some thirty plays, written for the stage, and appeared in several Moroccan television series and feature films.
